Pressed Powder (summer)

Pressed powder- I always use pressed powder after my foundation in the moring, partly to avoid a shiny face, and because I find it makes my makeup stay longer throughout the day. Here are some of my favourites...

• No7- (as shown in the picture above) this powder came in my No7 compact, there are two shades, I use the paler all over my face, and the brown as a bronzer, they both really suit my skin tone. I find that with bronzers it's really hard to find ones without tacky glitter, and both these shades are really Matt. This product is amazing quality, I wish you could buy this separately, I would definitely recommend this.
• Rimmel- this is another great product that I would recommend, the effect is similar to the No7, I love the scent (and the price). There's not much going between the No7 powder and this, exept the price (and at £3.99 this is far better), the only downside is the packagings not quite as sleek. But if your willing to comprimise on the packaging (like me) go for this.
• MUA- This is a very good value product, I have very senstive skin so i was expecting this to irritate it (being slightly less good quality- which you'd expect for the price) but it didn't. If you just want a small powder compact to try out pressed powder I'd recommend this.

Foundation (summer)

Being fair skinned, I don't really like to cake on the foundation so I have to use a chizzle to get it off, for starters that's bad for it, and it just looks stupid. I do wear it everyday to even out my skin, but use it more like concealer than avtually foundation. here are my favourites

• No7 foundation- Very little product is needed when applying this, so it lasts alog time, I find this good as the way I apply my foundation is just to even out my skin (not to change the colour). The packaging is really sleek, however I fee;l like alot gets waisted in the bottom of the tube. Nevertheless, I would recommend this product.
• Max Factor- The consistenmcy of this product is alot like the No7, however I prefered the cobverage this gave. It had a matt finish that still looked natural, and I found the coulour really matched my skin tone and blended well. This is my favourite founation so far.
• miss sporty- The consistency of this was alot runner, however I fund it easier to apply, it lasted longer, as I didn't use that much everday (as I used it as a concealer), The packaging looked abit cheap, and I didn't really li8ke the smell, however for the price it was really good.
• eyeko tinted mousturser- This doesn't really work well with the way I apply my foundation, if I was to use it all over my face it would be ok, however because I use it more as concealer (under my eyes ect.) it doesn't really have enough coverage. I also find my skin ends up loooking shiney, paretly becuase it's a mousturiser, and because of the glitter in the formula... over all this product was a disappointment. AND FOR THE PRICE!?

Mascara (summer)

Because my hair isn't anywhere close to black, I don't really suit the classic black mascara... that's never stopped me form wearing it though ;) haha... I'll go through my favourite mascaras, and I'm planning on repurchasing the best in brown. here they are...

• Maybelline volume express- This is in magazines a lot at the moment, and everyone was recommending it so I really wanted to give it a go... I wasn't too sure at first (as my last mascara had a thicker constancy) however now I love it. What really makes a difference is the curved brush, it's sooo easy to use and I love the fake lashes effect it gives me. I don't usually go for volume with my lashes more for curls, however this gives me both. This was a really good buy, and for the price (£7.99), I would really recommend it.
• collection 2000 curling mascara- This was alot like the maybelline one that I'm using at the moment, as it was part of the reason I went for a curved brush. I find curved wands really easy to use... I love the way they make your lashes look longer, and help you avoid getting mascara all over your face while applying it. I would recommend this mascara.
• the natural collection (brown) mascara- This colour was much more natural for me, I didfn' actually choose this product ofr myself (I was given it in a secret santa) however it was really good to introduce me to brown mascara. I didn't really like the consistency of this product, it was rather clumpy and dry, although the overall effect was good. Can't wait to try out another brown mascara.
• No7 full impact- this is a really good handbag mascara, the wands not that big, but it's really good for during the day (and makes your lashes look really long). It doesn't give much volume, just gives you natural looking lenthened lashes.

Face Scrub (summer)

for those of you with annoyingly oily skin (like me) you'll know how important it is to feel like your skin is clear and looking at its health best. I use a daily scrub to exfoliate my skin and keep it smooth. here are some of my favourites...

• Simple triple action exfoliator- This is one of my favourite scrubs as you see the results immediately after usage. Your skin feels smooth, healthy and clean, as the tiny beads in this formula remove dead skin off your face revealing a new healthier looking layer underneath. I would recommend this for everyday use.
• clean and clear deep action face wash- I was expecting this to be much like the simple one, however when I used it it is was more of a what than a scrub the clue was in the name) so if you just want your skin to feel clean and fresh this is the one for you. However if you suffer from dry patches around your nose and cheeks (like me) then I'd recommend more of a scrub that a wash.
• Visibly clear pink grapefruit scrub- This is by far my favourite, it's much like the simple scrub, with the same results, but the smell just makes it 10 times better. It's fruity and fresh, and leaves your skin feeling soft. I would strongly recommend this.

Eye Palettes (summer)

I don't really wear eye shadow during the day for school, but occasionally at the weekend I'll wear some natural browns. I have quite a lot of cheap eye shadows, and none of them really last the hole day, so I wanted to try out a few brands and see which ones were my favourites-

• No7 palette- I was given the palette for Christmas and I completely love it (it's featured below, as I use it for powder as well) it's a really cute compact and it includes everything. What I love about it is that its such good quality, and each of the products inside can be worn from day to night; depending on the combinations you choose. It has two layers, fist is eye-shadow and lips, and then face and cheeks, it also came with a mini No7 mascara and a natural pearly lip gloss. I love this set so much, it has all the best No7 products include in it, and the eye-shadow are so rich in colour and have a natural looking sparkle to them, that's not too obvious but still flattering. I would recommend this for a great holiday buy, as it would fit in a suit case perfectly.
• e.l.f natural palette- this palette I brought with some birthday money was pacifically for day time usage. It's not got much verity of colours, but that's why I brought it. I wanted a good set of natural browns that would go with everything. For the price this was totally worth it, it was £5, and with the number of colour to use I doubt it will be running out any time soon. I love the way it has some matt and some sparkles, some lights and some darks so that you can choose which combinations suit you best. This is my favourite day time palette so far.
• Bourjois eye-shadow mini box kit (thingy)- I love these mini instructions/ kits, they come with two shadows that complement each other perfectly and a mini brush. The instructions are easy to follow and the results were natural and easy to wear during the day. I would recommend this, as the quality is amazing and the price is reasonable.

Lips (summer)

My school has a make-up policy (it's not that strict- but I cant exactly just come in with neon pink lips or anything) so I have to keep the lip glass/balm to a minimum, here are a two of my favourites...

• lush snow fairy- this smells delicious, like sherbet and sugar... I was given this in a gift set for Christmas, I'm now addicted to this lip balm. It's not sticky, not too bright (although the colour in the tub looks it), and it lasts forever. The only downside is the price. When brought separately these are around £5 each, however my set was only £9 (and it included loads of other lush delights), this may seem like not a lot of money, but when you see the other lip balms you can purchase for the same price you'd be surprised.
• Body Shop born lippy- I love smell of these lip balms to, they'r very fruity. I've tried 4 of the flavours and my favourite is definitely the raspberry one. I love the taste on your lips, it makes your lips very smooth. The only bad point it that it's very sticky, and runs out quite fast, it also doesn't stay on your lips for as long as you'd hope, it wears out within 15 minutes usually for me.
• No7 lip gloss- I love the effect this gives your lips, it's so natural, but at the same time girly and pretty. It makes your lips shine, and the tiny particle of glitter reflect the light to make your lips appear bigger. It lasts for around half an hour, so regular top ups are necessary. By favourite colour is the one showed below.
• MUA lip gloss- this was my budget buy lip gloss, to update my wardrobe for the spring. It's very shiny and girls, it doesn't really have a scent (however it doesn't smell bad), it's very good for the price, and the packaging is very minimal and sleek. I would buy this again, however it wears off quite fast through-out the day.
• max factor lip stain- I was very eager to try out a lip stain, to see if they really work, I chose a max factor one in a rich plum as it suited my colouring. It's a very winter shade, so I may get a new one for the summer. It did work very well, and lasted all day, however it wasn't natural enough for school (probably getter for an evening). The only down side was the taste and the fact that if you applied it wrong you couldn't take it off; so you had to be really careful applying it. I was able to change the amount I put on so the colour was less obvious, I really liked this product.

Blusher (summer)

If I had to choose one item of make up that I could keep if all the worlds beauty products were destroyed it would be my blusher. I'm going to go through a few blushers that I've tried out, but Bourjois is my all time favourite...

• Bourjois Blusher- I love this blusher so much I prefer the matt ones; however they're all really pretty and girly while still completely natural. The best part is that they last forever. They each come with a cute mini brush that fits in the mini compact, and a mirror. I think this is a really nice touch, however if you wanted to use the brush to actually apply your blusher it's too small (and the bristles are very scratchy) also the mirror tends to get covered in the powder. The actual product is unbeatable.
• Maybelline Minerals- I really like the effect this busher has, it's very girly and natural, it feels really light and soft on your skin. The only downside is the packaging is really annoying, I MEAN REALLY! Because it's a powder it has really small holes in the cover for the product to come out of, it's really annoying because it's sooo hard to get out, although you can put the lid on and shake it to get it out I find you them get too much blush.... yes. I know, ANNOYING!
• W7 Blusher-  I really like the packaging and overall effect this blusher has, and for the price it's really good.I can't remember why but, I chose a really tacky colour (there were other options though), the main problem is because it's really cheap it can make my skin less soft. this would be good for occasional usage, or if you don't have very sensitive skin (unlike me).

Brushes (summer)

I used to use this free brush set I got in a magazine and I used to get these lumps under my skin on my cheeks, I'm so glad I got this ecotools brush set because now I can literally sit there rubbing the powder brush all over my face just for fun (its that soft). I saw these brushes on an advert in a magazine and really wanted some but thought they'd be too expensive, so I looked on-line for some other brushes, I found this massive case of Bobbi Brown brushes, but then realised they were fake, so I just left it for a while. I was at my local tk maxx before Christmas and spotted these ecotool brushes. They are in a small set, but for the price they're amazing. They're top quality (made from bambo) and they were only £7.99. yes, I know, BARGAIN! the only thing I would say is that I wish I had more, as I have to use the powder brush for my blusher too :( may look for some on-line.

Moisturiser (summer)

Now I've tried A LOT of moisturisers (partly because I love my skin to feel soft, and because my skin gets very dry) These are the two moisturisers I'm using at the moment but I'll go through some of my all time favourites now...

• Simple Daily 12hr mouisturinser- this is a very light moisturiser- which is very good for the day time; however I normally apply my mousturiser at night, then just use a mousturising foundation during the day, so I found this abit too light- and didn't see obvious results- this would be good for you if you were looking for a light moisturiser for during the day
• E45- I liked this moisturiser as it was A LOT thicker than the simple one, however it was a bit too think. I also found with the tube version it had a tendency to just randomly shoot out after you'd been squeezing it lightly for ages (as if it was clogged on the inside). This wasn't a problem with the tub version I used straight after, however as the tub was sooo big by the time I got near the end I had to bin it as it had gone all manky with constant use. I did see results with this one, and my skin felt smooth and moisturised.
• Nivea daily moisturiser- out of all the moisturisers I've tried this was my favourite. It had a good consistency thicker than the simple one- but not as thick as E45). I say obvious results with this one too, and (as it wasn't as thick) it didn't clog in the tube. It did have a tendency to all shoot out quite fast, but once I got to grips with how much pressure to use when squeezing it it was fine.
• amie morning clear- I first heard about the amie range in a magazine about two years ago, I then looked at the website to see if i should order some, I was just about to when I noticed some other moisturisers out there (that were a lot cheaper). I spotted this one the other day and (despite the price) I wanted to try it out. I chose this daily matt moisturiser as it's summer and I wanted to cut down on how much foundation I'm wearing (and go more natural). I've not tried this one yet, but I think it'll be good for the summer.
